- Centralised font management: Universal Type Server Lite allows you to maintain one centralised library of fonts, making it easy to organise and share fonts across your team. Give as much or as little control as you want to each team member - provide add, delete or update fonts capabilities only to those who need it.
- Flexible font delivery: With Universal Type Server Lite, you can choose how server fonts are delivered to users-either downloaded all at once or on demand as needed by the user.
- Mac AND Windows Support: Universal Type Server Lite supports both Mac and Windows operating systems for its server and client components. Mac and Windows clients offer full parity of feature set and performance.
- Client runs as a background application: Universal Type Client runs as a background application called Universal Type Core, which allows for uninterrupted font activation/de-activation even when the client is not open and running.
- Universal Type Clients are equipped with auto-activation plug-ins for Adobe InDesign/Illustrator CS3 and QuarkXPress 7. These plug-ins eliminate silent font substitutions and resolve font conflicts by automatically identifying and activating the exact fonts used in a document when the document is opened. When the document is closed, those same fonts are automatically deactivated. All Universal Type Client auto-activation plug-ins are equipped with patented Font Sense technology, ensuring exact font matching. It's like fingerprinting your fonts.

- All in the family: Users have the flexibility of viewing fonts individually or by font family. Viewing fonts by family provides a quick and easy way to search through larger font libraries.
- I.D. your fonts: Universal Type Client allows you to search for and view fonts by attributes (or characteristics) such as classification, foundry, style, keywords, etc. Users can be given permission to add or modify these attributes as needed. For instance add job numbers, project names, client names and whatever help you identify your fonts.
- Font license management: View all license information pertaining to any font in one location, create a font licenses and apply it to multiple fonts (Administrator), and search for fonts based on license status.
