Wildern School

Regional Training Centre

About the centre

Our aim is to provide an informal environment where teachers and technicians can explore Apple technologies regardless of experience or expertise. We host regular hands-on workshops where teachers learn to use technologies to enhance creativity in the classroom, right across the curriculum. Our own staff host most sessions, but we also invite teachers and technicians with specialist skills to present and run workshops throughout the year across all of the following subjects:

• Mobile Learning
• Podcasting for Primary teachers
• Podcasting for Secondary teachers
• Stop-frame Animation
• Music technology
• Advanced Video & Music Production
• Server & Network Administration
• Mac & Windows integration

Recent Events

Tuesday 13th July, our guest tutor was Julian Coultas, an Apple Distinguished Educator with many years experience at running workshops that are both fun and informative. Julian ran two hands-on introductory movie making workshops where teachers learned a variety of techniques to create great looking movies. Some teachers created student revision resources and others were preparing for an end of year music video project. More than 30 teachers attended and everyone left feeling motivated and enthusiastic.

Tuesday 2nd March, Apple distinguished Educator, Joe Moretti ran a series of sessions throughout the day featuring the use of iLife throughout the curriculum. In the afternoon an audience of music teachers learnt about Garageband. During the evening session we were joined by the entire leadership team at Wildern School and approximately 30 teachers from schools throughout the region. The feedback was excellent.
